Title: Regional support to national livestock GHG inventories in Southern Africa - Lesotho

This project supported Lesotho to develop and compile a GHG inventory for dairy and other cattle using the IPCC Tier 2 method. The inventory was compiled using the best available information, including with reference to a regional database of activity data compiled by FANRPAN. An inventory report was produced describing the results, data sources, methods and improvement priorities. The inventory was validated in a national workshop.

Organisations receiving support: Lesotho Metrological Service (LMS), Bureau of Statistics (BOS), Department of Livestock Services (DLS), Department of Agricultural Research (DAR), Lesotho National Dairy Board (LNDB), National University of Lesotho (NUL) and Lesotho National Farmers’ Union (LENAFU).
