Title: Cattle GHG inventory improvement in Indonesia

Funded by: Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) and Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), New Zealand

Delivered by: NZAGRC

This project aims to (1) Improve the functionality and accuracy of Indonesia’s inventory of GHG emissions from cattle; (2) Strengthen capacities for measurement of enteric fermentation and manure management emissions; and (3) pilot a system for MRV of mitigation actions by provincial and national government agencies. The existing Tier 2 cattle inventory will be revised and uncertainty analysis conducted to identify improvement priorities. Emission factors for feeds used in the main production systems will be measured experimentally. An MRV system for feed improvement interventions will be designed, piloted and evaluated.

Organisations receiving support: Research Centre for Animal Husbandry, Research Organization for Agriculture and Food, National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN); Climate Change Inventory and MRV Directorate (CCI-MRV), Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF); Directorate General of Livestock and.
